Recently Joe has been struck by the “Custom Bug” and the following cars are
additions made to the Bortz Auto Collection in the last several months. They
are not factory prototypes but the unique and “one of a kind” quality each of
these cars possess make them logical additions to the collection. Please see

Good friends Joe Bortz and the famous George Barris enjoy visiting during the Meadow Brook Concours 2005.

Fitzpatrick

This car was designed and built by Phil Lacy in the late 1940s (1947-1949). The project was financed by Al Fitzpatrick. Shortly after the car was finished, Phil Lacy was recalled to active duty in the USAF to serve in Korea. Phil never saw the car again until Phil Lacy Jr. contacted Joe Bortz. In 2006, Joe Bortz arranged this reunion with Phil and his car the Fitzpatrick Custom on Dream Car Garage.
